There are many issues being voted on by Congress that will not only raise the taxes we must pay, but will put our nation into such a state of indebtedness that our children and grandchildren will be the ones paying for what we are spending today. We and our posterity are Taxed Enough Already. The Willcox TEA Party Committee welcomes anyone, regardless of party affiliation, who would like to participate. Bring your best "homemade" signs to show off. Gather your thoughts on your favorite issue or on government in general and prepare a short speech or just come to listen. There will be a light dinner served. We had a successful TEA Party in December. Over 100 concerned citizens and dignitaries attended and it was very worthwhile. Please come to learn from County and State Leaders and share your ideas and passion for preserving Liberty and Freedom in this great United States of America. This will be a peaceful demonstration concerning today’s major topics including Healthcare Reform and Stimulus Spending.

ReplyDeleteThe TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party that was held on November 7, 2009, was attended by over 80 local citizens. It was a great success and began a network of people, who have pledged to work together to help grow a community of individuals in our county and across the nation that will stand up for what they believe in. This is a movement comprised of conservatives of all parties who are worried that government spending is out of control. We believe in our great nation and understand our responsibility to work hard and support leaders that will not grow government, but grow the American Dream by letting the people govern themselves as laid out in the Constitution. Tom Jenny, the director of the Arizona chapter of the conservative Americans for Prosperity, spoke to those gathered of the organizers of past civilized governments and the requirements of a free government, what works and what does not. Jenny quoted famous world leaders as far back as 2600 years ago, China’s Lao Tzu said on individual liberty, “The more prohibitions there are, the poorer the people will be...”
ReplyDeleteOthers who spoke were, David Stevens, Arizona State Representative and three outstanding men who hope to be the successful candidate to run for District 8 Representative to US Congress in 2010. These included Brian Miller, Andy Goss and Tom Carlson; all outstanding men and true patriots. The fourth candidate, Jesse Kelly, equally outstanding, was represented well by his director of volunteers, Lynne St. Angelo. She announced a town hall, which was held this past Friday. Mary Ellen Dunlap, hopeful for Cochise County Clerk of the Superior Court and Bruce Olsen, Candidate for Arizona Governor also spoke and then the Old Time Fiddlers entertained. To start off the afternoon, we heard from Wallace Klump talking about Liberty and Freedom. Sentiments were then expressed whole heartedly by your friends and neighbors as they stood and expressed ideas and concerns they had for our great nation. According to organizer, Peggy Judd, “It was an outstanding event and hopefully just the beginning of a movement by the people of our community to be a powerful force for good in our wonderful and free country.”
